Is The Ice Cream Diet For Real or Not?

By James Steele

This diet, the Ice Cream Diet, is a strategy that says you can shed the weight without giving up something like ice cream every day. Imagine that. The sun rises is a fact as much as ice cream makes you fat, and this diet comes along and makes that claim? This particular diet, we have to say, really piqued our interest, and we just wanted to find out if it's hype or bunk.

Saturated fats are found in animal products, Ice Cream is not especially low in that area. In addition to the ice cream you are permitted to consume, the diet also includes cheese, meat and fish. Saturated fats are considered "bad" fats, recently it was discovered this is not justified. Follow the recommedations and you wont be getting a very large amount of saturated fat. The Ice Cream Diet may be a healthy alternative to the conventional diets.

This diet is designed to keep the daily calories limited, but you can still eat that wonderful ice cream each day. Another component to this diet, and it's a good one too, is to do regular exercising. The basis and idea is to give yourself a little pat on the back every day in the form of being able to eat ice cream. If you are trying to restrict your calories while eating nothing that pleases you, it can be hard to stick to your diet. It makes sense that the Ice Cream Diet will be easier for some to follow because of the built-in reward system.

We do feel that the name, Ice Cream Diet, can put all manner of unusual ideas and initial thoughts in someone's head. Right? While you can eat a little bit of ice cream during the day, you'll still be taking in a low amount of calories. We do see how a person may think they can eat only ice cream while losing weight - not true.

There are a lot of people who don't like dairy products, and if they start limiting their caloric intake, then they're setting themselves up for calcium deficiency as well as other important nutrients. The book that explains this diet also makes a good case for getting your calcium from real foods and not just calcium supplements. You can manage to lose weight, get your exercise, plus get enough calcium each day.

Overall, the Ice Cream Diet can help you to lose weight if you follow its recommendations. However... please do not sabotage your efforts by eating more ice cream than the book suggests. Ok? The attraction of this diet is the daily ice cream breaks things up, gives you a little something each day, and you won't feel like you're in boot camp, or wherever.
